Hogtied Sugar is the type of band that does not come around often. With many elements that create such an amazing group. The guitarist with fingers as sweet as sugar and a soul of fire (Dylan Proulx), a bass player that will take you to another world (Jacob Schmitt), a drummer whose sick beats will shake the seats (Seb Zaher) and a singer whose voice will take you back to when you fell in love with rock (The Duke). This band from Sudbury Ontario, is traveling the province this year, playing each show as though it was their last.

Harvey King & The Grindstone

Harvey King & The Grindstone began as a passion project of vocalist Will Himsl and guitarist Sam King, writing material in 2018 in a downtown barbershop basement. They fused soul and rock, recruiting local artists and crafting songs that led to their debut EP *Bigtime* in 2021, showcasing their energetic and diverse style. Most recently, the band released the EP *Wildcard* in 2024, a tribute to their late bandmate Matthew Saroka, featuring rock and blues influences.

Tom Fyfe and the Whiskey River Blues Band will be playing at the Lavigne Tavern, June 6th, 2025.

Tom Fyfe and the Whiskey River Blues Band are a cornerstone of Northern Ontario’s blues scene, delivering soulful, high-energy performances for over four decades. Formed in Sudbury, Ontario, the band is led by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Tommy Fyfe, whose passion for the blues has fueled the group’s longevity and regional acclaim.​

Celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2025, the Whiskey River Blues Band has become a fixture at local festivals, venues, and community events. Their dynamic performances blend traditional blues with rock and roots influences, captivating audiences across Northern Ontario. Notably, they have shared the stage with Juno Award-winning guitarist Jack de Keyzer.

In addition to their live performances, the band has released original music, including the album Dr. Tom’s Blues Tonic, which features nine original tracks. Tommy Fyfe has also collaborated with his daughter, Stephanie Fyfe, on the acoustic album From the Porch, showcasing music from the 1920s and 1930s.

Don & Friends is a seasoned country music ensemble from Northern Ontario, led by Don Delorme. With a career spanning decades, Don has been a pivotal figure in the regional music scene. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Great Northern Opry in 2016, an honour bestowed by the Northern Ontario Country Music Association.

The band's repertoire celebrates classic country tunes, resonating with audiences across generations. Their performances are a testament to the rich musical heritage of Northern Ontario, blending traditional sounds with heartfelt storytelling.

Just Dave, also known as Dave Edwards, is a fourth-generation musician hailing from Northern Ontario. Growing up in a modest farming family, with a father proficient in instruments like guitar, piano, violin, and accordion, and a mother who added her voice to the mix, Alongside his brother, Dave explored various instruments, turning family gatherings into impromptu jam sessions..​

Today, as Just Dave, he captivates audiences where his affinity lies in delivering danceable classic rock and country covers. Honouring his roots, Dave often includes a couple of his father's original compositions in his sets. He believes in the transformative power of music and encourages families to pass this cherished legacy to future generations.​

Peter Cliche

Peter Cliche is a celebrated singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from North Bay, Ontario. His musical style blends acoustic folk, blues, East Coast, and worldbeat influences, showcasing his talents on guitar, harmonica, fiddle, and vocals. Cliche's performances are known for their heartfelt storytelling and rich musicality, resonating with audiences across various venues and events.​

In 2021, he released the album Living In This World, featuring 11 original tracks that highlight his diverse musical influences and songwriting prowess. The album is available on Bandcamp. 

Cliche's contributions to the local music scene have been recognized with his induction into the North Bay Entertainers' Hall of Recognition in 2022.

J Houston Band will be playing at the Lavigne Tavern, July 4th, 2025.

J Houston Band

The J Houston Band is an experienced power trio that immediately makes a connection to their audience with their blend of cover and original material in a rockin’ blues style. 

Formed by guitarist and vocalist Jim Houston, bassist and backing vocalist Carolyn Houston, and drummer Rob Joanisse, the J Houston Band delivers a dynamic sound characterized by edgy slide guitar solos, solid bass lines, and superb drumming. Their music showcases strong elements of blues, rock, and jazz, creating a unique and engaging experience for their listeners.​

The band has released four original albums to date, with several songs featured on internet radio stations in Canada, the United States, and the UK. 

Notable performances include opening for acclaimed blues harpist Carlos del Junco, blues guitarist JW Jones, and Juno award winner Crystal Shawanda. They have also played at events like the Toronto Fringe Festival and the Capital Centre Bluesfest.
